Animal Based Food Checks Suspended At Two Ports In The North Amid Safety Concerns

Concerns for staff safety has resulted in the suspension of post-Brexit animal-based food checks at Larne and Belfast ports.

It comes after graffiti opposing the Irish Sea border was painted in some loyalist areas of Northern Ireland in recent days.
Mid and East Antrim Council withdrew staff from Brexit inspection duties at Larne Port earlier this week following an "upsurge in sinister and menacing behaviour".
