Coillte Sees Huge Increase In Visitor Numbers To State Forests

The number of people visiting forests nationally increased by 38 percent since the start of the pandemic.

Coillte which has its headquarters in Wicklow says 2.2 million people have visited a woodland between March 2020 and the end of last year.
However Coillte's Communications Manager Pat Neville says anyone planning to go for a hike should follow public health advice and stick with all of the Covid-19 restrictions.
