Dublin City Council is proposing the permanent pedestrianisation of several streets in the city, following a trial several weeks ago which received positive feedback.
Areas around Grafton Street, including South William Street and Drury Street, were closed to traffic over a number of weekends during the summer.
A period of consultation will now take place with pedestrians and the business community on plans to introduce the changes permanently.
South William Street will not be fully pedestrianised in order to allow for cars exiting the Brown Thomas car park.
