Kildare's Paul Mescal has earned a BAFTA nomination for his portrayal of Connell in Normal People.
His co-star Daisy Edgar Jones is also up for Best Actress, while the series itself is shortlisted for seven awards.
Normal People is up against Small Axe in the Best Mini-series category, with Steve McQueen's production leading the BAFTA nominations with 15.
