Questions have been raised again about how effective the enforcement of the current Covid-19 travel restrictions have been, after a large number of people from various counties camped on Brittas Bay Beach for the bank holiday weekend.
While a large number of vehicles were turned away from scenic areas in the county, and several more vehicles were towed away from Magheramore beach, the main car park at Brittas Bay remained open overnight, allowing a number of people to leave their vehicles and camper vans, parked there while they camped overnight on the beach.
Sparately, Some local residents at the Murrough in Wicklow town have expressed their anger on social media about the huge number of people gathered there over the bank holiday weekend, drinking takeaway alcohol in public and ignoring social distancing rules.
They say litter was left piled up at overflowing bins and that there was little or no enforcement of the covid-19 rules.
