A 14 million euro fund has been set up to develop outdoor adventure activities in rural Ireland.
The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme is open to local authorities, development companies and state bodies to develop adventure tourism locations.
The funding can be used towards projects involved in hiking, horse-riding, kayaking, surfing, sailing, paragliding and hang-gliding among others.
The projects can range from small scale costing less than 20,000 euro to a maximum state funding of half a million euro.
Details are available through the Department of Rural and Community Development.
