New Government Bill Targets Ticket Touts

Ticket touts could face fines of up to 100,000 euro under legislation going before cabinet Ministers today.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar is bringing a bill forward that would see fines of up to 100,000 euro or a maximum two year jail sentence for people trying to re-sell tickets above face value for venues or events, with a capacity of more than 1,000 people.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee is also set to bring proposals to cabinet on regularising the status of undocumented migrants in Ireland.
While the Education Minister Norma Foley is bringing a bill to cabinet around how this year's Leaving Cert will be run.
