Phil Hogan Insists He Wasn't Pushed Out Of His Job

Phil Hogan says his decision to quit his job as E.U. Commissioner  was his own -- and he deeply regrets causing "such concern, unease and upset".

The government here said Mr Hogan had chosen "the correct course of action" after the GolfGate scandal -- and will name his successor "in due course". The Trade Commission he's given up is one of the most powerful jobs in Brussels.
