Protest Planned Today Over Plans By Government That Could Impact On Non-Profit Employment Services

Up to 400 people are expected to take part in a rally in Dublin this afternoon against government plans, which have been described as a move to shut down non-profit, local employment services.

Trade unions and the Irish Local Development Network are demanding a meeting with Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys.
They say existing non-profits in the sector are effectively excluded from continuing their work by the wording of a tender for employment services.
