Sage Advocacy says it's disappointed that the former Health Minister, Wicklow T.D. Simon Harris didn't launch an investigation into the care of a nursing home resident, who died two weeks after he was admitted to hospital with an infestation of maggots in a face wound.
79-year-old Ultan Meehan, who had dementia and terminal cancer, was brought to hospital from at the Kilbrew Nursing Home in Ashbourne County Meath on May 29th, two weeks after his wife raised concern about his condition after a visit.
