Mustard Seed House and Restaurant
A Taste of Ireland
Sunday, 16 May 2021 - 31 minutes
John Edward Joyce is one of the great contemporary masters of Irish hospitality. At every point of his work in the Mustard Seed he strikes just the right tone, from the first welcome when you arrive at this noble country house hotel, to the final goodbye as you depart down the winding driveway back out into the real world. The result is, in effect, the creation of a dream world, a perfect country house that is the house of your dreams in every detail: sublime comfort; relaxed style; beautiful cooking; warm hospitality.
John Edward was named “Host of the Year” at the 2019 Georgina Campbell Awards, Ireland’s longest-running independent food and hospitality awards. The Mustard Seed was established as a restaurant in Adare in 1985 by Dan Mullane before moving to its present location, a spacious Victorian property with luxurious accommodation on seven acres of lovely gardens, with mature trees, shrubberies, kitchen garden and orchard in Ballingarry. It has also won awards for being a super "Pet Friendly" house.
