The Nurnemberg Christmas Markets
The Nuremberg Christmas market is one of the oldest and certainly the most famous Christmas market in the world. In the wooden stalls of the “little town made of wood and cloth” you can find traditional, often hand-made Christmas decorations and sweet treats such as gingerbread. Additional attractions include the children's Christmas and the star house, the market of the twin cities and the Nuremberg children's light parade.
The History of Frankfurt's Christmas Market
The Frankfurt Christmas Market is indeed no ordinary event. Its history has been traced back to 1393, when first reference thereof was made in official documentation. The market was traditionally accompanied by the performance of ecclesiastical mystery plays, which were also held on the Römerberg.
